7th Philippine Pyromusical Competition

Loud, colorful, and magical - this is how I describe the first pyromusical show that I've witnessed so far. Last March 5, 2016,  just after a stressful week (that was 2 weeks actually, 1 week for the Midterm exams, the other week  for research), I joined my friends in watching the 7th Philippine Pyromusical Competition being held in SM Mall of Asia every Saturday from February 13 to March 19, 2016.

As expected, lots of people were also watching the event. Some, like us, are accompanied by their friends. Other audiences are dating couples. Only few are children or those who are with their families. One thing is common, though, everyone has a ready camera in hand. The camera comes in the form of a camera phone, tablet, iPad, digital cameras, or even DSLRs.  This must really be something to look out for, I thought.

Then the show began, and it began with the singing of the Philippine national anthem. I actually didn't expect this. Without much ado, the competition began. There were two countries that performed that night, Germany and Canada. Their national anthem were also played before their fireworks display.

I was so awe-stricken by what I saw, heard, and totally experienced. Borrowing my friend's words, it was indeed "a feast for my rods and cones and eardrums".

Just how do they do these? This is one form of science-meets-art kind of stuff. Definitely, a great way to end my week - - with a BANG! Literally.
